The TU HPFP are better. The tune obviously makes a big difference, and octane in the fuel is a large factor as well. Yes it does smell but only if the windows are down and ur at a red light or parked. When driving u can’t really smell it. But the pops and burbles overweights the smell, making it worth it. Some nice B58 dyno numbers from one of our customers, comparing all maps running a downpipe and E30 fuel on his M140i. The difference between ST1 and 2 would be a bit bigger if the car had been measured without DP on ST1 and also the base number would be slightly lower without DP but still great results.All these modern engines use the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor to measure the air in to apply the proper amount of fuel. You will eventually reach the fuel cap in a stock tune, but you'd never see it from a DP and exhaust. You really need the tune to unlock the potential of the DP.I just put my stock downpipe on for my annual emissions and the dealership visit. Can't wait to get the catless dp back on. I miss the sound to much. Once you do the downpipe swap, the second time only take about an hour to do.
